We serve a dual purpose!

We rescue racehorses and are committed to providing them a forever home together, as they have formed close bonds over several years. Our second purpose is to help people. Whether through equine therapy or simply spending time in nature with the horses, individuals experience a profound sense of peace and presence. We take great joy in bringing people, horses, and nature together to practice mindfulness and heal from trauma.

Fresh Start Farm is a tax-exempt non-profit organization. We aim to expand our healing journey. Since the cost of caring for horses is substantial, we are seeking donors, sponsors, and partners to help us make this potent pathway to mental health accessible to a broader audience of both children and adults.

We aim to establish a nature preserve. Land conservation is crucial. Our important work involves protecting these wild spaces for future generations. However, our primary goal is to make this land enjoyable for current generations. Food forests and permaculture gardening will educate people about nature’s bounty. They will also provide beautiful spaces and productive activities that promote mental, physical, and spiritual health.

As seasoned educators, we have a deep affection for young people. We’ve witnessed many of our youth grapple with challenging circumstances. We aim to provide them the support they need to transcend their past experiences. We believe that our blend of therapy, nature, and horse bonding can be a potent tool to help them overcome. Love and care are the keys. We are assembling a team of talented professionals and compassionate adults, ready to assist and mentor them.

We dream big. We believe that with your help, we can make a significant difference in this world. We can replace division with unity and reduce addiction and hopelessness. We welcome everyone, regardless of age, race, or beliefs. If we work together, many can have a fresh start. The ripples we create here will expand until we are united as people rather than labels.

Many racehorses give their all on the track. When they retire from racing, they are still young. Fresh Start Farm will serve as a rehoming center for these remarkable creatures. We will nurture and retrain them for a productive life post-racing. Without this opportunity, many could fall into neglectful or abusive situations.
